Rudie is my first purebred dog, show dog, and sport dog, and he’s exceeded my expectations in every way. Rudie is a handsome, happy guy with strong handler focus and an up-for-anything attitude that has let us try a bunch of different things.
Rudie has his ISWS, UKC, and IABCA conformation championships. He earned his ISWS major at two years old at the 2026 SWARM Windhound Hoedown in Utah by going Winners Dog and Best of Winners under Judge Corrine Miller of Firebird Borzoi.
Rudie has lots of lure drive and is a clean, happy racer. He has his LGRA SSR merit title and has 9.5 of the 12 points needed for his LGRA GRC. He also enjoys lure coursing; he and Scout had a very pretty run together in October 2026, and both are now qualified to compete in AKC lure coursing trials.
Rudie is food-motivated and handler-oriented, which has allowed us to try some handler sports. Rudie has enjoyed nosework classes, and I hope to begin competing in nosework this year or next. We have also taken several pre-agility and beginner agility classes, and while he definitely enjoys the game, we’re still a long way off from trialing in that sport. He is 24″ tall as measured multiple times by third parties at the 2026 SWARM height station.
Rudie is easy to live with and extremely environmentally stable. He is very dog-social, though he is neutral to strange people. While he has shown prey drive toward small animals outside the house, he lives comfortably with my two housecats.
